This is my first blog and i’m not sure what else I should say. I suppose I’ll go with the story of when the Nintendo Gamecube came out. It was around 2001. Spring I believe. I was 12 years old and all the latest gaming magazines had been talking about the new console wars after the old generation finally died out. The line-up was the Microsoft Xbox, the Sony Playstation2 and the Nintendo Gamecube. Needless to say I did my research and determined that the Nintendo system had ample processing power compared to PS2 and better graphics, not to mention it was about 100 bucks cheaper. I wasnt interested in Xbox at the time with the game line-up so the choice was easy. Of course I was a partial Nintendo fan boy too. Anyway months prior to the release date I sold all of my video games I had acquired previously through Ebay, garage sales and Funcoland. It wasn’t easy but I was driven to have a new generational video game system at any cost. Finally the day had come, I got there at 6am and waited outside the game store before the doors had opened. First in line to receive my fresh new silver first edition Gamecube with the game Luigi’s Mansion and Super Smash Brothers. It sounds silly but it was a proud moment in my life to save for something I really wanted. To this day I have the same console, box and games. Great memories from a more semi-refined 3D era of gaming…
